Business Recruitment Process

This workshop focuses on filling downtown's vacancies with businesses that enhance downtown's business mix.  A prerequisite for this workshop is that the market analysis be complete.  Potential topics include:

• Reviewing the data base and getting ready for recruitment;
• How to form the business recruitment subcommittee;
• Making sure that the data base is complete;
• Setting recruitment goals and identifying prospects;
• Matching prospective businesses with vacant buildings;
• Developing public relations for business recruitment that informs the community and businesses of positive reinvestment occurring in downtown;
• Developing the logistics and content for a recruitment folder and or web site;
• Where to find businesses and people to run them; and
• How to approach the prospect.
